Island Time with Friends!

We headed back up to Orcas Island! This time with our dear friends the Paxtons and a special visit from uncle Chris and Nigel Pennyworth! In addition to the usual amazing island fun Jackson caught his very first fish! "with no food too!" He caught a smallish trout off the dock with out any bait! We released it before we could take a picture but there were many shots taken of the effort. The last day we got to help Brian celebrate his birthday and even spent some time island hopping. It was hard to come home after such a great trip!

Oaks Bottom Pup Walk

The kids and I took Mr Jimmy on his first long walk since his poor leg healed. He loved it! There were plenty of things to sniff out, winding trails, and 2 miles of fresh air. The kids and I enjoyed ourselves too! There were incredible storks, a newly formed bee hive right on the trail (yikes!), and even an osprey in her nest. We will be going back again soon!

Visit with Dad!

We went to see Timmy host a benefit concert at Esther Short Park in Vancouver. The kids got treated to shaved ice and a back stage view of the happenings. It was great to get to spend time and see him doing so well! We love you dad!

Tillamook Forestry Center

This is the most incredible place! I took the kids there on the way to Cape Look Out. Beautiful facility with look out tower and pond. The pond actually feeds the toilets in there spotless restrooms. The kids got to dress as pioneers, fight fires, and check out forest critters close up! It was super cool and free!!

Beach Time!

The kids and I got to join Jacque's family for their summer camp out! We spent 3 fantastic nights at Cape Look Out. This trip reinforced the importance of beach camping in the summer! Between long days playing the surf and the sand, yummy campfire meals, and glow stick starry nights, the kids were in heaven! Jacque also treated the kids to crazy cool super hero shirts and toys and...they also got custom made swords widdled by Jacque's soon to be brother in law Carl! So great!
