Summer fun with friends!

We got to have a delish salmon dinner at the Paxton's! They got to try out a new super grill! The boys fell right into swashbuckling sword play which included scaling this play house roof!

Jack's Summer Doo!

Jack had been asking for a blue Mohawk for months! Where did he get his inspiration?? None of us could figure it out! Since Bijou is at camp this week I decided it would be fun to have a special day just with him. One of our activities included a much needed hair cut and when he stepped up to the chair I just blurted out that he wanted a Mohawk! haha! his jaw was on the floor, like cool mom! It's apparantly a contemporary version of one. The hairdresser herself voiced it was the exact doo she was getting and its worn longer now! He was a little disapointed that it didn't immedietly stand up! haha! We have to get fancy gel to get that effect! We'll figure out what his new school doo will be next month!

River Time!

Jack and I went with our friend Jacque to her favorite spot on the Washougal river! It was a great spot full little currant channels and deep pools! I got to check out Jacque's snorkeling gear and am hooked! It's a whole other world below, even in a river! We took Jimmy dog and he did incredibly! He even jumped in and enjoyed the water! It was a great treat on a hot day! Were excited for Bijou to get back to we can take her.

Camp Collins Time!

Bijou was a pro going to camp this year. She had the same cabin and a counselor named Sweet Pea! Right outside her cabin window was a nest of baby robins. They were all big and hungry! So cool! Nana came along to drop her off and enjoyed getting to see her bunk! Jack and I miss her around home but know that she is having a great time!

Sauvie with friends!

The kids had the best time at Krugar's summer concert on the farm! There was a chance it wasn't going to happen due to land use issues.. but hopefully there will be many more. The kids were treated to perfect weather, sprinkler fun, berry picking, hayrides, dancing, and an incredible treat from the Audubon society! They had 3 young barn owl siblings to release. They were found in an abandoned nest and were ready to make a new home!

Cool Off!

We always replace the same sad little kiddie pool every other year! As our kids have out grown them our resident raccoons haven't! The one year we decided to splurge and get a big kid pool, the new brood of baby raccoons had a pool party and we woke up to a clawed and very flat pool. At least the hard shelled smaller version withstands raccoon paws and keeps you cool!
