Cool Off!
We always replace the same sad little kiddie pool every other year! As our kids have out grown them our resident raccoons haven't! The one year we decided to splurge and get a big kid pool, the new brood of baby raccoons had a pool party and we woke up to a clawed and very flat pool. At least the hard shelled smaller version withstands raccoon paws and keeps you cool!

That's funny I never thought about coon's hanging in a pool.
[ We do not have one this year ( It's two minutes to the public pool & about 5 to your choice or river spots..) . We have had pools in the past though - the inflatable large ones & I do miss it @ times. I wonder if it was the raccoons that popped it. Though, I think more than likely it was my friends dogs. When I had the twins & my son in there he would get excited and run around it trying to play with us. He also would try to attack you when you ran across the yard to jump in the pool. Joness & I started shooting him with a water gun or distracting him so the other one could get a clear shot without being taken out by Porter the dog. ( My dog was off laying in the heat which makes her super duper happy ! ). However, That pool which was a blast & created an endless source of entertainment ( not to mention the cooling off factor ) also was time consuming - when you factor in how much cleaning goes into the pool that is shared with two twins whom were 4 at the time ( & still working on potty training ..pool diapers worn ), a pack of teenagers. Yes, A pack - you'll see when yours are older. they travel in packs. ( Just like we did ! [= ), grass, tree debris, etc.,etc. ). One year we accidentally placed it under one of those trees that lets off yellow dusty pollen & Since so many kids used it all of the time we went the chemical route. Whew !
